Technological advances are not allways driven by a possible commercial gain at the end of the developement of a product.

Dr. Trevor Blackwell just liked the challenge and designed a unicycle powerd by an electrical engine.

There is only one button on the Eunicycle and that's the on/off switch. Increasing or decreasing speed or changing direction is done by leaning one way or another.

I suppose this thing won't break any speed records, but it does look a lot more exiting than the two wheeled segway (http://www.segway.com).

Have a look at the Trevor Blackwell website : Trevor Blackwell's Eunicycle. You will find a detailed list of parts and instructions to build an Eunicycle yourself.
